As a working artist, it is imperative that we implement high standards for sanitation and hygiene protocols. The health of safety of our clients are a top priority and continue to be so.
Our standard practices have been supplemented with additional protocols for Covid-19. Nicole has also been triple vaccinated as of December 2021.
Examples of added protocols in response to Covid 19:
- The continuation of wearing of PPE
- Added time for services to thoroughly sanitize and
disinfect work surfaces in between clients
- Individually wrapped brush sets for each client
- Restriction of people within working environment
- Ventilation of space to allow air to continuously flow
Nicole is continually updating her knowledge for infection control and practices, in addition to her initial education at George Brown School of Makeup.
Products & Brands
What brands do you have in your kit?
I have curated a diverse collection of professional brands, luxury brands, and drug store brands for my kit. I hygienically test products before an item makes it into my professional kit - to ensure performance, longevity, and ensure the safety of skin + scalp health.
My tools and products are an extension of my artistry and I am very discerning when it comes to the products I use in my working professional makeup and hair kit.
What is Airbrush?
Airbrushing is a technique that sprays makeup onto the skin using controlled air pressure and flow. An airbrush gun is connected to an air compressor designed for cosmetic purposes.
Airbrushing feels like a soft mist sprayed onto your skin. The techniques I use when airbrushing create a weightless, flawless, light to medium coverage that is hard to discern from actual skin and makeup. I pride myself in creating natural, light feeling, radiant looks for my clients that enhance and elevate their features.
For examples of my Airbrush work, check out The Experience, The Gallery, or my Instagram Reels!
I want a glam style of makeup like what you see on Instagram. Are you able to do that?
Absolutely! A glam style (ie. Instagram, YouTube style, glitter cut crease, drag techniques) requires a little bit more time but not a problem.
What we have to be aware of though is that a lot of the social media images are filtered to the high heavens. Real skin involves texture, imperfections, and peach fuzz.
Will my makeup be affected by my mask?
We try our best to ensure the makeup application and hairstyle we create has longevity. However, when a mask or any type of fabric is rubbed against makeup, there may be some transfer and smudging in the area, regardless of product or techniques used.
We mitigate this by using setting sprays and providing a complimentary touchup kit for our Brides.
Hygiene & Sanitation
Wedding Day Timing
How long do services take on my wedding day?
Due to additional precautions and protocols for Covid-19, the updated timing of services are as follows:
1 hour 15min + for Bride Makeup
1.5+ hour and up for Bride hairstyling services, dependent on the hairstyle, addition of hair extensions
1 hour for 1 makeup service (Bridesmaids, Moms, Guests)
1 hour for 1 hairstyling service (Bridesmaids, Moms, Guests)
Approximately 5-10 minutes between each client to sanitize and reset the tools and work station.
Do you have a team?
Usually this question translates to: "How many additional wedding party members can I add?"
The short answer is:
Your party receiving makeup / hair services can be as large as you want!
The long answer is:
Nicole brings other artists to the booking as services and timing requires. These are trusted artists she have worked with for years, have a similar style and also run their own businesses, so you can rest easy that you will have professionals on the team.
During the wedding day, Nicole focuses on the Bride's hair and makeup, and additional services if possible, and the rest of the team works on the rest of the party.
Time duration for Brides for makeup plus hair are minimum 2 hours, but can be up to 3 hours depending on the hairstyle. (Hair is usually what takes longer)
Duration of a service for other party members can vary from 45 - 1 hour.
One service is either 1 makeup or 1 hair service.
Can I bring my mom / sister / friend to my trial?
Due to COVID-19 precautions, we do not allow guests to accompany you to your Trial / Look Design Appointment. Not to worry, we will take lots of pictures for you to share with your loved ones!
